The Cookie of the Year

Sea Salt Matcha Chocolate Chip Cookie







P.S. it is dairy free!




Recipe



Ingredients:


1/2 cup of melted butter

2/3 cup of brown sugar

1/3 cup of granulated sugar

1 T of vanilla extract

1 egg

1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour

2 1/2 T of matcha powder

sprinkle of sea salt

1/3 cup of your favorite chocolate chunks

parchment paper



Instructions:



First, wash your hands, your surface area, and the tools you will be working with! In a large bowl, melt 1/2 cup of butter. Add 2/3 cup of brown sugar, and 1/3 cup of granulated sugar. Whisk until it is all combined.

Then add in your vanilla, and crack your egg in there as well. Whisk your mixture until it is all creamy!

Sift in 1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour. Then, add in your 2 1/2 T of matcha powder.

Fold everything until it is all combined. Then, add in your chocolate chunks. I chopped up half of a Trader Joes Dark Chocolate Truffle Bar, and it came out divine!

Mix in your chocolate. Don't over mix!

Let your dough rest for 30 min, in the fridge.

Preheat your oven to 350 F. At then end of the 30 minutes, line a pan with parchment paper. Scoop out 2 T sized dough balls and flatten the tops just a little.

Bake in a preheated oven for 10-11 minutes.

Right when the come out the oven, top with a little sea salt. You don’t have to do this step, it just adds a nice flavor to it!
