Your typical basic tortilla recipe, it is an easy quick side to add to any dish!
I bet you have everything needed for this in your pantry!
Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups of all purpose flour and a bit extra for kneading
1 T of baking powder
2 tsp of kosher salt
1/2 cup of unsalted butter
1 cup of water
Instructions:
First wash your hands, and clean your work space thoroughly!
In a large bowl, start by mixing 1 T of baking powder and 2 tsp of salt with 3 cups of all- purpose flour. Whisk! Whisk!
Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter with 1 cup of water in the microwave. Mix until the butter is completely melted. Then add the butter mixture to your dry flour mixture, while the butter is still hot.
Knead the dough until all the flour comes together. (You can do this in a stand mixture, but I just used my hands. But, make sure your hands are clean!) Knead it into a nice smooth ball of dough. Cover it with plastic wrap in the bowl for 10-15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, separate the dough into equal sized pieces and roll them into nice smooth balls of dough.
Transfer the balls of dough back into the bowl, and cover them with the plastic wrap for 10 more minutes.
After 10 minutes, on a lightly floured working surface, roll out your first piece till you have a 10 x 12 in. round.
Preheat your pan or skillet over medium heat and place your tortilla on it. Once you see bubbles begin to form, flip it over and cook for an additional 35 seconds. Then, flip it again.
Enjoy!!!
